The curriculum uses the Uechi Ryu karate style. Students who are able to start their practice early and who work diligently through their time at Sweet Briar may have the opportunity to earn their black belt by graduation. It is grounded, traditional, and practical. It is one of the styles that came together to create Tae Kwan Do and the two still have the same foundation form, Sanchin, the first kata students will learn.
