ARTH 251 - 19th Century European Art: 1830-1900 CR: 3 Prerequisite: ARTH 115 An examination of art and architecture in 19th-century Europe. The seminar focuses on methods of visual analysis, issues of stylistic choice, and methods of research that aim to uncover the cultural significance, meaning, and purpose of a range of 19th C European artifacts and built structures. This course will alternate between being taught abroad and on campus.
