Students who major in Mathematics are well prepared to work in disciplines for which advanced quantitative skills are required, such as engineering, science, and economics. In upper-level mathematics courses reasoning rigorously, arguing logically, and writing unambiguously are emphasized, which are assets in virtually any profession.

The following requirements are needed to complete the major in Mathematics (27 hours):
NOTE: To obtain a major in mathematics, a student must complete at least 15 hours of required courses at Sweet Briar.
