EDUC 313 - Specialized Instruction for Diverse Learners CR: 4 Prerequisite: EDUC 211 and EDUC 245. This course will develop knowledge, understanding, and skills related to instruction and assessment that support K-12 students with exceptionalities. Students will select, develop, and adapt learning experiences that support mastery and deeper learning within K-12 students. Additionally, students will assess and evaluate learning to inform and differentiate instruction. Students will learn how to select and provide accommodations for K-12 students with exceptionalities, including the use of assistive technology, through collaboration with other education professionals, students, families, and community resources. This course includes a field experience component of 20 hours in a PreK-12 school setting. A course fee may be required to cover the costs of travel, background checks, and fingerprinting. Students may apply for a Grant for Engaged Learning to offset these expenses.
