THTR 215 - Devised Theatre

This course explores a shared yearly theme with the Center for Creativity, Design, and the Arts. Through processes and exercises developed by Viewpoints, Jerzy Growtowski, and Jaques Lecoq, students will collaborate to create a fully scripted and performed piece of theatre out of the improvisational development of the theme and conceived by the ensemble. The content of the piece will be based in research, interviews, personal experiences, lectures, and exhibits and will culminate in a public presentation and an open talk back with the community following.
