CR: 4 Prerequisites: CSCI 126, and either MATH 205 or PSYC 219. A study of the methods used to extract information from large amounts of data, using the R statistical programming language. Topics include data mining and processing, data visualization and presentation, data analysis using statistical methods, and techniques for scaling information retrieval to big data sets. Offered alternate years.
