VART 251 - Nineteenth-Century European Art (1830-1900) CR: 3 Prerequisite: VART 105 . An examination of art and architecture in 19th-century Europe. The seminar focuses on methods of visual analysis, issues of stylistic choice, and on methods of research that aim to uncover the cultural significance, meaning, and purpose of a range of 19th-century European artifacts and built structures.
