HIST 346 - Telling the Told: Oral History CR: 3 Prerequisite: HIST 135 or HIST 136 . In this course, students will develop hands-on skills in conducting oral histories. Students will be introduced to the ethics and techniques of collecting, preserving, and interpreting oral interviews. Students will also engage in discussion of how memory is constructed. The course will incorporate the critical evaluation and use of primary source research in addition to oral histories. It will focus on a central theme such as race, gender, economic class, politics, immigration, sexuality, or institutions based on the instructor. Offered alternate years. III.O, V.5
