EDUC 673 - Teacher Action Research CR: 3 Prerequisite: EDUC 421, Concepts in Educational Research. Open only to accepted M.A.T. students. Corequisite: EDUC 641, Place-Based Pedagogy and Practicum. Action research is systematic inquiry conducted by educators to gather information about their schools, how they teach, and how their students learn. It allows teachers to study their own classrooms in order to better understand them and be able to improve their quality or effectiveness. Building on concepts from EDUC 421, Concepts in Educational Research, students will propose a method for collecting and analyzing data in their teaching internship placement, and begin to collect and analyze data for their proposed action research studies. Note: Courses numbered at the 600 level are exclusively for graduate students. Should an undergraduate student register in a 600-level class, they will be dropped without prior notice.
