POLS 225 - Law on Film CR: 3 Few occupations are portrayed more in the movies than that of a lawyer. Filmmakers have used this focus to explore a wide diversity of topics: historical events; ethical, moral, and religious questions; the philosophical basis of society; and the practiceof law itself. Through a combination of film viewings and class lectures, students will learn what these films got right and wrong about the “law.” Among the movies to be viewed: To Kill a Mockingbird, Inherit the Wind, Anatomy of a Murder, A Man for All Seasons, The Paper Chase, The Verdict, Amistad, My Cousin Vinny, A Civil Action, 12 Angry Men, A Time to Kill, A Primal Fear.
