ENCW 222 - Food and Form: Writing What We Eat CR: 3 Prerequisite: ENCW 101. Writers digest thei experience onthepage similarly to the way food passes through our physical bodies. Words become energy, and reflection insight. By studying food writing in all its forms - recipes, shopping lists, food blogs, essays, stories, and poems - this class will explore the historical, cultural, and personal importance of food in our daily lives. Students will interrogate the traditionally domestic sphere of the kitchen, how the food we eat shapes us, and food writing’s ongoing contributions to literature through a series of creative and critical responses. This course counts for CORE 150.
